I wanted to create a GIF showing a geometric pattern that I could show in my math classes.
- Contrast: Contrast is created with the bright colors and white background. Another layer of contrast in created when all of the colors are inverted.
- Repetition: The same shape is used in three different sizes to create the pattern. The inner and outer shapes are both rotating.
- Alignment: The shapes are all aligned vertically.
- Color: The image was created using the three primary colors, and the GIF introduced the inverted colors as well.
- The Custom Shape Tool was used to create three of the same shape in different sizes.
- The Move Tool was used to align all the shapes in the center.
- All three shapes were converted to Smart Objects.
- A Video Timeline was created.
- A loop was created for the first object (red). The Free Transform tool was used rotate the object 180 degrees every 60 frames. The loop was trimmed to end at playhead.
- A loop was created for the second object (blue). The loop was trimmed to end at playhead.
- A loop was created for the third object (yellow). The Free Transform tool was used rotate the object 180 degrees every 60 frames. The loop was trimmed to end at playhead.
- An Invert Adjustment Layer was added to all layers.
- A loop was created for the Invert Adjustment Layer. The Opacity was set to 0% initially, then gradually changed to 100% after 60 frames, and then back to 0% to end the loop.
