Exhibit 6 - Business Card
Design Thoughts:
- Contrast: The text contrasts with the white background, and the image on the back contrasts with the background as well. My name also contrasts with the rest of the text because it is in all caps, and the contact information is smaller to show contrast from the rest of the text.
- Repetition: The font color is the same as the darkest shade of blue in the background. The back of the business card also uses the same color scheme, but with less opacity.
- Alignment: The text is all aligned left and also centered vertically. The image on the back is centered.
- Proximity: My name and title are close in proximity; the contact information is also all close in proximity. There is space in between these to show contrast.
- Artboards were used to create both the front and the back of the business card as part of one Photoshop file.
- Layers were used for background, images, and text.
- The rectangular marquee tool and gradient tool were used to create the backgrounds. The background on the back has a lower opacity than the front.
- The opacity of the image of the graph on the front was decreased to just 10% so that the image is just barely visible. The image on the back was resized to 2 in x 2 in so that it would fit well in the center.
- John McWade's invisible square was used to create the line for the left alignment of the text.
