Exhibit 8 - Combining Images
Design Thoughts:
I took two separate images of my children holding a ball of their favorite sport, and then combined it into one photo.
Photoshop Skills Used:
I took two separate images of my children holding a ball of their favorite sport, and then combined it into one photo.
- Contrast: The new picture has brighter colors providing a contrast with the lighter background.
- Repetition: Each child is holding the ball of their favorite sport, and both are standing by the window.
- Alignment: The photo was cropped so that the children were aligned horizontally.
Photoshop Skills Used:
- The photos were added from Bridge as layers, and the image was cropped slightly.
- A Quick Mask was used to select my daughter and her shadow. I used the Polygonal Lasso Tool to select her, and then added her shadow using the Magnetic Lasso Tool with a 10px feather.
- A mask was added to the Layer with my daughter selected, creating her image on the Layer with my son.
- The layer with my daughter had to be adjusted using the Move tool to make sure the blinds and window sill lined up.
- An adjustment layer was added to increase the Vibrance and Saturation to make the photo a little more colorful.
- The image was cropped again to improve alignment.
